FAQ
How accurate is this checker?
It applies the official list of visa-exempt countries (Regulation (EU) 2018/1806, Annex II) and the exemptions in the ETIAS Regulation (EU) 2018/1240, checked on 21 October 2026. Special cases (diplomatic passports, refugees, stateless persons) are not covered: the official site prevails.
I have an EU passport and a US passport. Do I need ETIAS?
No, if you enter Europe on your EU passport or ID card. Show it at check-in if the airline asks for ETIAS.
Does a UK or US green card or residence permit exempt me?
No. Only residence permits and long-stay visas issued by a participating European country count. ETIAS depends on the passport you travel with.
Do children need their own ETIAS?
Yes, every visa-exempt traveller, babies included. It is free under 18, but someone still has to apply.
